Towards these ends, Southern Group has implemented LogiSouth(, a unique, state-of-the-art, on-line computer system that allows the Company a 24-hour vigilance on the status of cargo. Developed specifically for Southern Group, and installed at all main offices as well as available via modem at international agency branches, this sophisticated computer program and database yields access to information, and provides control of all range of activities from cargo pick-up at origin, to warehousing, inventory control and final delivery at destination, including bar code labeling at the point of merchandise reception for fast and error-free loading and dispatching.
As one of the most advanced communications systems in the industry, LogiSouth also comprises a database of ocean lines, tariffs, and schedules that allows Southern Group to select the best available alternative at time of shipping for any specific commodity its clients may require transporting. Programmed to handle thousands of shipments, and issuance of all documents required by all ocean/air lines and governmental agencies, LogiSouth is configured to meet the increasing demands of the industry beyond the 21st century.
Complementing this innovative computer information system is Southern Group’s Fax on Demand Tracking System. Developed exclusively for use by Southern Group customers, the Fax on Demand Tracking System grants clients quick tracking of shipment , access to information on vessel schedules, cargo, and booking requests; then provides automatic hard copy confirmation on their queries via fax for the clients’ records. As are all client-oriented communications, the process is simple, requiring only an on-line call to the local Southern Group computer. The benefits are significant, providing immediate validation and support of client status.
